Radio Access Networks
Radio Access Networks (RAN) is historically one of the MERA’s key competence domains. MERA first got involved into software R&D for RAN node (back in 1995) - carrier-grade GSM OAM solution of a major telecom customer. Since then MERA has tremendously expanded its RAN domain competence in 2G and moved beyond 2G into 3G RAN and finally got involved into software prototyping for 4G RAN. Naturally, MERA has built a solid foundation in a variety of underlying RAN technologies, telecom platforms and protocol stacks. Software R&D for 2G/3G/4G RAN Nodes: - 2G RAN OAM - design, development, testing (including test automation) and maintenance since 1997,
- 3G RAN NMS - design, development, testing (including test automation) and maintenance since 2001,
- 3G Node B - design, development, testing (including test automation) and maintenance,
- 2G BTS - design, development, testing (including test automation) and maintenance,
- ATM-IP gateway - design, development, testing (including test automation) and maintenance,
- WiMAX ASN Gateway - design, development, testing (including test automation) and maintenance.
Software R&D for 2G/3G/4G RAN tools: - 2G/3G BSS Quality Optimizer Tool - design, development, testing (including test automation) and maintenance since 2003,
- 3G Radio Frequency Optimizer Tool - design, development, testing (including test automation) and maintenance since 2005,
- Multi-standard provisioning, verification and network optimization tools covering variety of standards from early 2G (GSM), to most recent specified 4G (LTE), aiming to provide comprehensive solutions for most widely deployed and most prospective world’s wireless standards.
Software R&D for RAN Node Platforms: - Telecom platform for RNC, 2G BTS, 3G NodeB - design, development, testing and maintenance since 2005,
- Telecom platform for BSC - design, development, testing and maintenance since 2007.
Software R&D for Telecom Protocols: - SS7 family,
- ATM family,
- IP family,
- Network Management family.
